Get TicketsWhat is Sidebar Talks?
Sidebar Talks brings fascinating experts into casual spaces for talks that ignite curiosity and spark conversations. A passionate expert takes the room through something genuinely worth knowing — in a format that's more house party than classroom lecture.
Then, instead of a traditional Q&A, we do something different.
We call it the sidebar.
A conversation in small groups with people who are just as curious as you are. It's the kind of night that makes you glad you came out.
How It Works
Doors open. Grab a drink and say hi to whoever's next to you. (They're probably interesting.)
An expert takes the room through something worth knowing. No note-taking required.
Instead of Q&A, we shift into small-group conversations. It's a chance to discuss the ideas you just heard with the people around you.
The sidebar wraps up. The conversations usually don't.

FAQ
Sidebar Talks is a social learning club for curious people. We bring experts — professors, authors, researchers and more — into bars for short, engaging talks designed to spark conversation and new ideas.
Doors open at 6pm. The talk kicks off at 6:30 and runs about 45 minutes. Then we shift into "the sidebar" — a structured-but-relaxed small-group conversation about what you just heard. After that, grab a drink and keep the conversation going as long as you'd like.
Nope. Our talks are designed to be accessible regardless of your background. If you're curious, you belong here.
Many people do. The sidebar is specifically designed for this — you'll be in a small group, everyone's in the same boat, and the format does the social work for you.
Not a problem. All of our venues offer non-alcoholic options, and some have food as well. The drinks are optional; the ideas aren't.
Tickets go on sale about a month before each event through Luma. We don't sell at the door, so grab yours early. Join the mailing list and we'll let you know the moment they're available.
Yes to both. We'd love to hear your topic ideas or learn about your expertise. Reach out and tell us what you have in mind.
